Take Control

We’ve dropped our country in the loo,
It’s soggy. What a pain!
Rescue it and dry it off,
Or simply pull the chain?

Politicians tell us that
“It’s the Peoples’ will,”
Though seem unwilling, or unable,
To cite a binding Bill.

Sideline Parliamentary rights
And stumble onward blind,
Ride roughshod over sovereignty,
We mustn’t change our mind.

Let’s leave the European house
To silence Britain’s voice,
And lose our rights to vote cause that’s
A democratic choice.

Our so-called leaders scorn and cow,
Ignoring calls for thought,
Denying truths and experts’ views,
“Don’t complain,” they snort.

“Scottish cousins must stay bound
In our democracy,
While we cut European ties.”
That’s not hypocrisy!

“Full speed toward the sheer cliff edge,
Trust us, we will prevail!
We never lie, and need no net
To save us if we fail.”

“Quick! Jump aboard! We’re underway,
The Poll can’t be defied.”
It’s not as though our land could either
Flounder or divide.

So ends our democratic sway
In Europe’s brotherhood,
Let’s hope some day we’ll reunite
Where British dreams once stood.
